So my little angel is SO BIG!

Kya is BIG! she is smiling and making noises and flipping over and eating me out of house and home! she's really doing well!!!

Baby Update #2!

As of Sunday, February 10th, 2008; Kya Bree weighed 2 lbs && 12 ounces. She is still the same length I suppose. They have not measured that again. They don't do that as often. She is having her feeding tube removed some time in this next week. [10th=17th]. Also, She's on less oxygen && when the feeding tube comes out, the Pick for IV fats will be gone along with it. That Pick is just to send extra fatty acids && nutrients into her system until She is capable of eating enough on her own to be healthy && retrieve those otherwise necessary things Herself. She is a lot more active. She looks around more when we come to see her && I think She even laughed once while we were there the other day. Premature babies don't really look like a baby when they're first born. But She's beginning to shape up. Her arms aren't so skinny and long, they're rounder and more lifelike. Also the shape of Her entire body. Before She looked kind of odd, but now She looks like a miniature baby! Before her belly was her body. Now she has legs, arms, a tushie, a neck you can see, && of course that little smile of hers is even coming out! She is doing great! She had had a fever a few days ago, but the Doctor said she was fine. No infection, just a little cold! Which is GREAT!

Baby Update 1-21-08

Kya Bree is now up to 1 lb 15 ounces. She has also grown a half inch. So that means 13 inches. She still has the blonde hair. She has opened her eyes. They are blue. Like most baby's eyes are when they are first born. But we are hoping they stay that way. She is so much more alive now. She doesn't sleep for as long. When we go see her, she statys awake for most of the time we're there. It is really amazing to see her little eyes moving all around. She is also more hourly feedings. The last time we were there she was on 1.1 CC's of milk an hour but every 12 hours it jumps .1 CC's. So I'm guessing now that she is on 1.4 CC's. She is taking to the breastmilk very well. I am trying to pump as much as I can so that way she has plenty to eat!

my current pregnancy status

Kya is still doin really well, even though we lost Kyra to Twin to Twin Diffusion. We are doing all we can to keep her full term. I am on lots of things. from, abien to help with sleep && blood pressure to magnesuim IV's to make sure I do NOT contract.

So, i have had lots of shots, blood work, && two surgeries since ive been here. i had a Cerplage which is a stitch placed into my cervix. Then i had 4 LITERS of amniotic fluid drained out of my stomach. Durin the operation, which was my first EVER, my water broke. thats why im leakin amniotic fluid. thats ALSO why im on bed rest. but anyways. Kya is healthy, if she can wait to be bron till later she will be fine. but if she is born now, she will have either lots of defects er not make it past the delievery table. um, theres not much else to sya really. im on Ambian, Indocen, delcolax, magnesium, oxygen at night, electrolytes through an IV, tributaline, somethin fer high blood pressure, hooked up to heart rate monitors, blood pressure monitors, baby monitors to monitor Kyas heartrate, then i have this thin on my finger measurin the oxygen in my blood. thats why im on oxygen @@ night...i have slight sleep apnea. lol anyways. i know this is long. but i only get on my computer once in a while since im in Triage sooo. Also, i had two shots, one in each hip that was a steroid fer Kya to help with the growth of her lungs, heart, and other vital organs. Im sure theres a bunch of stuff i am missin, but with as little time as i have on the computer i think i got it good enough. if you have any further comments er little questions feel free to comment me && the next time i get on here, i will respond to you as soon as i can!
